Gorey, Edward: Three different pinback buttons, each relating to the New York City Ballet (NYCB). Each button designed by Gorey. All three in fine condition, save quite minor scratching to the back of one of the buttons.Gorey was a devotee of the ballet and, indeed, one of his most well known books is "The Gilded Bat, " the story of an awkward girl who is transformed into a prima ballerina. Gorey regularly attended NYCB performances and was a fan of dances by George Balanchine. Gorey also published a book "The Lavender Leotard: or, Going a Lot to the New York City Ballet" as a tribute to the 50th Anniversary of the NYCB.
